I will agree on this one, it is very well written. No one ever said the comments here had to be negative, so I am sure AMS would be glad to know you view their letter in a positive manner. The only thing I can see wrong with this, is you will only be notified if there is a position for you. And since they claim to hold your resume, that can be a long wait.
