Employer: Where was that resume I told you to file? Can you bring it back with three additional copies?

Employee: Oh, I am sorry. I thought when you said to file it, you meant throw it in the trash like always.

Employer: Ah who am I kidding! We were just gonna hire someone else anyway. The janitor told me about his nephew, who has a computer.

And the letter reads:

Thank you for your interest in the position that our agency has posted on the World Wide Web.

I have reviewed your qualifications and background and while impressive, they do not match our client's needs for this particular position.

Your resume does not reflect the required industry experience that this position requires. This was determined by reviewing the resume or career information you submitted as it compares to the requirements of the client, which are outlined in the job posting. If you are unsure which requirements you do not meet, I would recommend that you revisit the posting and compare it with the information you submitted.

Our clients hire us to find only the candidates that are a fit for their positions, and many have specific detailed requirements that must be met regarding specific industry experience, level of experience, and therapeutic class, to name a few.

Please accept my apologies for not contacting you directly, the volume of responses received prohibit direct contact with all applicants.

If you have not done so, I would like to direct your attention to the MRI Corporate Resume/Job Board at www.mrinetwork.com. Please feel free to post your resume there, which will then be searchable by our network of MRI Recruiters. We have over 5,000 professional, industry-specific recruiters from over 1000 offices in 35 countries, with approximately 14,000 open positions listed online.

I would like to thank you for your time, effort and interest in this opportunity. Best of luck in your career endeavors.
