|Hiring Manager: I
grow tired of this applicant we interviewed two weeks ago. He is calling and asking us questions about when we will make our choice.
Will he not learn? I think we should continue ignoring him and not even
tell him if he was not picked. That would be expected. People do not want to hear from us
right? So we will not even respond. Boy we are gonna save millions by not
bothering to respond to applicants as well as the ones we actually interview.
Everyone else in the room: Excellent idea sir! We will be RICH!

And the letter reads:
Thank you for taking the time to interview with me and for your interest in QDS. We had a very hard
time choosing a person to fill our open Systems Administrator position. Unfortunately, we did decide
to offer the position to another candidate who we thought might be a better fit within our company.
I personally wanted to let you know that the final decision came down to you and one other candidate.
I will definitely keep your resume on file in the event that another position should become available or
if the chosen candidate does not work out. Good luck in your job search and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
