IT Manager: Excellent. Degree in Computer Information Systems, four years experience in HTML and ASP. Two years with SQL and VB Script. Look a portfolio of URLs. Impressive.

Janitor: I have a nephew who has a computer at home.

IT Manager: Great! We will hire him instead.

And the letter reads:

Dear XYZ,

Thank you for your interest in a career with Hostime Managed Hosting. Your official notification is on its way to you now by postal mail. In the interest of letting candidates know their decisions as soon as they become available, Human Resources has decided to release this information initially by e-mail.

I am very sorry to inform you that we are not able to offer you a position with Hostime. Every year we receive a large number of applications from highly qualified persons, making the applicant pool extremely competitive. Human Resources gives careful consideration to every canditate, and this decision was reached only after a complete evaluation of your application.

Remember that Hostime is known as a leader in the web hosting industry, and that we expect all applicants to be able to positively contribute to this in some form. We are an innovative company and seek innovative, dedicated and intelligent employees. Unfortunately, we do not feel that your applicant meets this criteria.

Please accept my best wishes for success in the future as we are confident that there is some firm that may offer you employment.
